Here is a simple routine that demonstrates the basics of putting a routine together.  I like to post videos that can easily be done at home without any expensive exercise equipment (great for people like me).  As always, don't forget to warm up and cool down.

Deal Alert: Fresh Fruit Under $1 at Your Local Wal-Mart

Normally I dread my weekly trip to the grocery store to buy my food for the week.  I just did not feel like dealing with the weekend shopping crowd so I put it off until yesterday.

I discovered a great deal while browsing around the produce section.  Wal-Mart has packages of fresh strawberries that normally retail for $1.98 on sale for $.99.  I'm talking about fresh, ripened strawberries that are not bruised, beaten, or near the end of their lifespan.  I did a double take when I saw the sign (especially because I paid full price last week).

Even better, Wal-Mart has small and medium sized cantaloupes on sale for $.99 as well.  (I was a little worried about how the one that I purchased would taste.  It was pretty good although I wish that it was more ripe.)

For $2 before taxes you can have enough fruit for snacks this week.  Check out your local Wal-Mart store to see if you can discover even better deals.

This workout can be done at home without any exercise equipment.  I love videos like this because you can incorporate some of the moves in the video with your own to create a custom workout routine.  Don't forget to warm up before you exercise and cool down at the end of your session.

Nearly everyone has heard of the phrase "bucket list" to describe the things that a person wants to do before they die.  Well this list is similar but it refers to the insignificant, quirky, or pretentious things that you want to accomplish during your healthy lifestyle journey as your inner skinny chick (or guy) emerges.

Small Changes= Long Term Weight Loss Success

Sometimes starting a new diet regimen can be intimidating.  It's hard to adopt long term changes overnight. 



Like a lot of other people, I have started many new healthy lifestyle bandwagons only to end up falling off days, weeks, or months later.  I decided to do something simple this time in my quest to become a skinny chick.  I am going to concentrate on improving the quality of my life for the rest of my life.

Who said eating healthy had to be hard........or torture? 



One of the hardest parts about adopting a new eating plan is finding healthy and tasty foods, more specifically snacks.  During the past few weeks, I have made a lot of changes in my diet.  Surprisingly, one of the most pleasant surprises has been in the quality of the snacks that I eat.  I threw out the garbage and ended up discovering a new world of healthy snacks that has been leaving me feeling more than satisfied.  Here are 5 healthy snacks under 100 calories that will help to combat your hunger.

Today's video is only 3 minutes long and it showcases a variety of different ways we can warm up our bodies prior to exercising.  Warming up, although a fundamental aspect of the workout process, is sometimes neglected and overlooked.  Not only does warming up and stretching help to get our hearts pumping, but it also reduces the chances of injuries from working out. 

I like this video because it is simple, straightforward, and easy to follow.  I also love the it gives you a lot ideas of warm up exercises to use.
